The patented roller shade clutch mechanism is designed for smooth, reliable, and effortless operation. The continuous loop control cord allows you to easily raise or lower your custom roller shades with precision, making them ideal for everyday use on standard, large, or hard-to-reach windows.

Pulling one side of the bead chain control releases the clutch system, allowing the shade to glide smoothly into the desired position. Once the cord is released, the self-locking clutch automatically engages to hold the roller shade securely in place without slipping, creeping, or springing upward.

Our Easy Roll Shades are designed to provide convenient operation, modern style, and reliable light control for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, offices, and commercial spaces.

Inside Mount

WIDTH:

  • Measure the inside width at the top of the window frame. We will make deductions for brackets.

HEIGHT:

  • Measure the inside height of the window frame at the left, middle and right. The longest of the three is your ordering size.

Outside Mount

WIDTH:

  • Measure desired width of bracket placement. NOTE: Finished fabric size will be 1¼" less than the bracket measurement, so be sure to take that into account when measuring.

HEIGHT:

  • Measure from the point where you want the top of the shade to be mounted, down to the window sill. If there is no window sill, measure down to the point you want the shade to cover.

Not all roller shades are built the same. At Creative Holmes, every custom roller shade is handcrafted in Holmes County, Ohio using premium materials, carefully selected fabrics, and high-quality clutch components designed for smooth, reliable operation.

Unlike many mass-produced window shades, each shade is assembled by hand in our workroom and individually tested before it ships. We hang and inspect every shade to make sure it operates smoothly, aligns properly, and meets our quality standards.

We use premium clutch-based roller shade systems from one of the industry's leading manufacturers, helping provide dependable performance, precise positioning, and long-lasting durability for your home or office.

Whether you're ordering blackout roller shades, solar shades, light-filtering window shades, or vision (zebra) shades, our goal is to provide custom window treatments that combine quality craftsmanship, easy operation, and lasting value.

Yes! Roller shades are one of the easiest and most reliable window treatments to operate. Their simple, durable design allows for smooth everyday use, even on large or hard-to-reach windows.

All Creative Holmes Roller Shades feature a premium beaded chain control system that provides smooth, consistent operation when raising or lowering the shade. Our handcrafted shades are carefully assembled and quality tested to help ensure dependable performance, precise positioning, and long-lasting durability.

Whether you choose blackout, solar, light-filtering, or vision roller shades, each shade is designed for easy operation, convenient light control, and everyday comfort in your home or office.

Yes, to an extent. Our Blackout Roller Shade fabrics are designed to significantly reduce incoming light and help darken bedrooms, media rooms, nurseries, offices, and other spaces where light control is important.

However, even blackout roller shades will allow a small amount of light to enter around the outer edges of the shade. This is normal with most roller shade systems because a slight gap is needed on each side for the shade to operate smoothly within the brackets.

For customers looking for maximum room darkening, there are several ways to reduce light leakage:

  • Side Channels – Optional side channels can be installed along the edges of the window to help minimize light gaps and improve blackout performance. NOTE: Side channels are not currently available online but if interested, please call our showroom and we'd be happy to assist you! (330) 674-2590
  • Outside Mount Installation – Mounting the roller shade outside the window opening allows the fabric to overlap the window frame, helping block more light from entering around the sides.

While no roller shade can create a completely light-proof room in every situation, our blackout roller shades provide excellent light reduction, privacy, and glare control for most residential and commercial applications.

Yes and no. Blackout and Solar Roller Shades can help reduce heat, glare, and UV exposure, making it easier to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and improve energy efficiency throughout your home.

However, roller shades are not designed to seal air leaks or stop drafts caused by poorly insulated or leaky windows. While they can help reduce sunlight and heat transfer, they will not replace proper window insulation.

Roller Shades are a great option for preserving your outdoor view because when raised, the shade rolls up neatly and virtually disappears from the window area.

If maintaining your view is important even while the shades are lowered, we recommend choosing a Solar Shade fabric. Solar fabrics are specially designed to reduce glare, heat, and UV exposure while still allowing you to see outside during the day.

These sheer weave materials help protect furniture, flooring, and interior furnishings from sun fading while providing light control, daytime privacy, and a more comfortable indoor environment without completely blocking your view.

Installation is quick and easy for most homeowners. With over 20 years of experience, we’ve simplified the roller shade installation process to make setup as straightforward as possible. Roller shades are designed to be low maintenance and easy to care for. Regular dusting with a soft, clean cloth or a low-suction handheld vacuum is usually all that is needed to keep your shades looking their best.

For small spots or stains, gently clean the affected area using mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture, as these may damage the roller shade fabric or materials.

With proper care and occasional cleaning, your custom roller shades can maintain their appearance and performance for years to come.
